Creative Systems for Learning, Media + Emerging Technology

I work where creative direction, technology, training and operations collide — turning complicated problems into useful experiences, scalable workflows and media people actually want to engage with.
Aviation training, AI, XR/VR, e-learning, automation, motion design and technical communication are different tools in the same toolbox: make the complex clearer, faster and more human.

About Me
  • Robert Potaczala
  • Creative Technology + Learning Systems Leader
  • Louisville, KY
  • 20+ Years Across Media + Technology
  • Make Complex Things Understandable
  • Design + Systems + A Little Science

I have spent more than two decades moving between broadcast design, engineering, brand development, aviation and learning technology. That range taught me something useful: the best creative work is rarely just “creative.” It is usually a system problem wearing a design problem as a hat. My job is to understand the real constraint, translate technical or operational complexity into something people can use, and build a solution that still works after the launch meeting is over. Today my work sits at the intersection of advanced learning technology, multimedia production, digital training, AI-assisted workflows, XR/VR simulation, automation and content operations. I am most valuable when a team needs someone who can speak to executives, subject-matter experts, developers, instructors and designers — then connect those conversations into one practical direction.

What I do

Creative Leadership

Brand systems, multimedia direction, executive communication

I build visual and communication systems that make teams look coordinated because they actually are coordinated. From motion graphics and technical storytelling to reusable templates and creative standards, the goal is strong work that can survive deadlines, handoffs and changing priorities.

Learning Technology + Digital Strategy

Training ecosystems, e-learning, analytics, automation

I connect content, platforms and workflow. That can mean improving an e-learning production model, designing a better intake process, shaping a digital learning experience or finding the point where technology removes friction instead of creating another dashboard nobody asked for.

Emerging Technology Integration

AI, XR/VR, simulation and practical experimentation

I like emerging technology most after the novelty wears off. I prototype AI, XR/VR and automation around real business and training problems, establish guardrails, test where the value is measurable, and turn the useful pieces into repeatable workflows instead of permanent science projects.

Resume + Leadership Profile

Creative technology and advanced learning leader with 20+ years of experience spanning aviation, broadcast, engineering, brand systems and digital training. I specialize in translating complex operational needs into multimedia, e-learning, AI, XR/VR and workflow solutions that are easier to understand, easier to maintain and easier to scale. My value is the bridge: I can move from strategy and stakeholder conversations to the details of how a system, training experience or piece of media actually gets built.

Services + Capabilities

I help organizations make complicated things easier to understand, easier to build and easier to scale. Sometimes that means a training experience. Sometimes it is a multimedia system, an AI workflow, a VR prototype, a Power Platform process or a brand architecture that finally gives everyone the same visual language. I am less interested in selling a shiny tool than in finding the combination of people, process, design and technology that actually moves the work forward.

Training Multimedia + Technical Storytelling

Motion, video, information design and visual explanation

Turn procedures, systems and technical subject matter into media people can understand quickly and remember later. I build motion graphics, video, infographics, presentations and visual frameworks for training, safety, operational and executive communication — especially when the source material is dense, technical or regulated.

Motion graphics Video edits Infographics Presentations

E-Learning + Content Architecture

Articulate, templates, production systems and maintainable learning

Build digital learning that is easier to produce and easier to own after launch. That includes Articulate Storyline and Rise support, reusable templates, QA patterns, publishing workflows, content standards and the production logic behind recurring training programs.

Storyline fixes Template systems QA patterns Publishing

XR / VR + Simulation Strategy

Immersive learning, familiarization and scenario prototyping

Explore where immersive learning is genuinely better than another screen. I prototype XR/VR concepts for familiarization, orientation, procedural practice and scenario-based training, then help define the content, asset, hardware, measurement and rollout requirements needed to move from demo to useful program.

Concepts Proof-of-concepts Asset direction Rollout planning

AI + Workflow Automation

Generative AI, low-code systems and practical operational efficiency

Apply AI and automation to real production problems: repetitive content work, intake, documentation, analysis, search, versioning and handoffs. I focus on responsible workflows, enterprise guardrails and repeatability — using AI as leverage for people, not as a magic button with a quarterly subscription.

Brand + Communication Systems for Technical Organizations

Guidelines, templates, campaigns, catalogs and durable visual systems

What I build

Systems that can survive growth: visual standards, reusable templates, content hierarchies, campaign frameworks, technical catalogs and communication patterns that reduce reinvention. The goal is not more brand paperwork; it is a shared operating system for how the organization communicates.

Where this fits best

Aviation, engineering, training, safety, compliance, technology and other organizations where the subject matter is complex and credibility matters. If your team needs the output to be accurate, clear, polished and repeatable, that is the kind of problem I like.

Graphic Design + Technical Communication

A selection of brand, print, catalog, campaign and technical communication work created across aviation, engineering, broadcast and commercial environments. I approach graphic design as more than decoration: hierarchy, information architecture and visual consistency are often what make complicated content usable. Open any project to view the work at full size.

Graphic Design
Instagram (Drawings/Sketches/Stuff)
Not everything needs a business case. This feed is where the sketchbooks, illustration experiments, strange creatures and visual side quests live — useful proof that curiosity survives even after years of corporate decks and technical documentation.

Motion Design + Animation

Broadcast graphics, promos, aviation visuals, animated identities and training media built for audiences that do not have time to decode the message. My motion work combines design, timing, 3D, compositing and technical storytelling — from local television packages to aircraft communication and learning content.

Case Studies + Project Notes

A portfolio tells you what something looked like. These notes explain why it existed, what made it difficult and how I approached the problem. The projects span aviation, broadcast design, industrial marketing, technical catalogs, digital transformation, event branding and international consulting — with the constraints left in, because that is usually where the interesting work starts.

Start a Conversation

If you are building a team, modernizing learning technology, rethinking a creative operation or staring at a complicated process that clearly should work better than it does, I am interested. Send the role, the project or simply the problem. The best conversations usually start with “this is messy, but…” and go from there.
