UPS Airlines unveiled a new aircraft for their fleet, a Boeing 747-8F. As part of the aircraft display various monitors were placed around the aircraft to display specifications and new features.
The main challenge with this task was that there was limited marketing materials available for this aircraft. I had to meet with Boeing and UPS teams to get all the specifications for each of the screens. Whatever was not in a suitable vector format had to be remade to be used in this project, and for our print work as well.
The setup was also challenging because plane was parked in the hangar at Worldport in Louisville, Kentucky. Meaning that each of the 80-inch televisions used in this event had to be properly positioned under the aircraft and powered, while also maintaining all the safety regulations. In the end, it was a huge success.

As part of a brand image update, Discount Labels hired a talented photographer named Kyle Norton to come into the facility and take new pictures of their printing machines and various label types for their 2018 catalog.
The overall project required the team to create various labels in all of the companies specific lines. Everything from foil embossed labels to simple mouse pads were created. The hard part was that no "real" companies were to be used. This required the team to create fake branding for each product line that we mocked up.
Once all the labels were finished printing we sent them off to Kyle Norton so he could affix them to real life products. The pictures he created with our labels were stunning needless to say. I worked closely with Kyle to get the shots the way we needed, and the collaborative efforts really paid off in the end.

DONAN Engineering overhauled their marketing material and the marketing director wanted new brochures, line cards, and fliers within two months.
The driving factor for the deadline was the upcoming trade show season. The marketing director had a specific list of requirements that needed to be met. The marketing department worked with various investigators and department heads to get the correct information for each service line within the given time frame.

Since the early 2000's the ISCO Product Catalog's design has not changed. In 2013 I was tasked with overhauling the entire look and feel of the catalog, along with the challenge of showing both English and Spanish at the same time. I accepted this challenged and began planning and gathering everything I needed.
As project leader I was tasked with coordinating with various engineers, CAD designers, and sales representatives to get all the information needed for this project. Each section took about 1-4 months to complete, depending on the information needed. The old catalog we used had been out of date by years and so the information in this one had to be researched, organized, and combed over to make sure what we needed was in there and what we didn't was not.
The design was requested to be simple, clean, and show both English and Spanish at the same time, without feeling cluttered or overpowering. This was an extremely problematic task, because the data was technical in nature, and the translations had to be reviewed by several departments for accuracy. In the end this only enhanced the overall look and feel of the catalog and allows ISCO to better position itself as a leader in the HDPE Piping Industry.

In 2013 ISCO started planning 2014's projects, one of those was relaunching the ISCO brand that included, the catalog, website, and any other print or digital media. The website was initially planned for a Q2 release in 2014 but was pushed back due to changes. We used the CMS Umbraco initially but decided to go with the CMS Symphony in the end.
Working with ISCO's Web Developer, Wes Merkamp, we made the ISCO website everything we thought it needed to be, e.g., responsive design, HTML5, elimination of Adobe Flash elements, updated look to match overall catalog design and rebrand. Together we oversaw the project from concept to completion and managed the work flow perfectly!

The WDRB Design Team was given the opportunity and challenge of creating a network quality, fast-paced graphics package to complement our new state of the art news set. The purpose was to rebrand the station to make us stand out in a very competitive news market. We were able to produce high-end graphics, using only two computers, by combining the integration between 3D animation software and the Adobe suite. Our goal was to create a light look that helped our reporters tell quality stories and keep a fast pace newscast that didn't feel alarming or sensational. We created over 160 animations in less than four months with some render times exceeding seven days per animation.
The WDRB's Design Team:
So, with this powerhouse team, we were able to create everything, listed below, in-house:
3D Animation, 3D Design, 3D Modeling, Lighting, Rendering, Compositing, Advanced Photometric 3D Lighting Techniques, and 2D Graphic Elements (for parts of set).

Snap-Tite is a culvert re-lining company headquartered out of Louisville, Kentucky. They had a Design Guide which is a catalog of sorts, but also an instruction manual on procedures and mathematical properties of their product. I was tasked with collecting all necessary materials, photos, and technical information; and putting it together into this guide. The project took five months to complete from concept to printing. This is now also available on a CD/USB as a flip book for trade shows.

Update: Thunder again! In 2012 I was told to revamp what I created in 2007 and 2008. The show was rebranded as "Thunder on WDRB" and I was tasked with creating a new logo, look, and overall brand. I spent months working on the design, trying to get the exact branding hammered out. As of today, the station still uses my Thunder branding elements and logo for their packages.
Louisville, KY is home to one of the biggest aircraft and firework shows in the world. In 2007 FOX41 was given the rights to broadcast Thunder Over Louisville and the station decided to broadcast the event in HD for the first time ever. It was a huge undertaking for our department and the result was beyond anyones expectations!

Thunder Into Louisville is a motorcycle event, known as a poker run, in Louisville Kentucky. WDRB-TV has been in charge of it for over 12 years. They originally worked with the Kentucky Derby Festival (KDF), before switching over to the Boy Scouts of America. The event's graphics called for a new logo every year, that was also turned into a pin given away to each participate for free. There are several branding elements for this event: Poster, Road Signs, Poker Cards, Poker Sheets, Logo Animations, Commercial Animations and Elements, Entry Boxes, Pins, T-shirts, and other miscellaneous items.

As part of a co-op with WDRB and IREX.org, I was selected to represent WDRB-TV with David Callan in the Georgian Media Partnership Program (GMPP). We traveled to the Tbilisi, Georgia in 2011, with the goal to consult with a local television station, Gurjaani TV, in how we did local news, graphics, and software usage.
The trip was an extremely eye-opening for both parties, and the overall experience was unbeatable. While in Georgia David and I were interviewed by a local news site, media.ge. The interview can be seen here: American Consultants in Gurjaani TV. Both links can be found below along with a few pictures from the trip.
Fun Fact: As of August 2015, many of the graphics David and I created while over there, are still being used for the television station's graphic packages.

I was approached by Kevin Olmsted, Creative Director of Ibis Films, to assist him with a title sequence for a straight to DVD movie titled: 'This Is Who I Am', directed by Marcus Dreeke and produced by Cimino Productions in association with Moving Target Entertainment. The amount of work and things he wanted seemed right down my alley.
We had under two weeks to get everything completed, packaged, and approved. Together we had to cut out around a hundred graphical elements, model, render and edit several animations, and near the end we had several re-edits to make sure everything fit the director's wishes.
Production Times
► | Title Run Time: 2 min 13 sec
► | Production Time: 10 days from concept to final approval
► | Render Time: 61.5 hour (includes all renders from parts to final project render)
► | File Size: 20.3 Gigabytes (Final Sequence at Best Quality)
November 2011: Kevin informed me that some changes had to be made because the film went under a rebrand by the publisher as: "American Mobster: Miami Shakedown". The film was released mid-2012. I was told that the movie bombed and received a rating of 3 out of 10.
